VISIT US

Throughout the exhibition, visitors can learn about various aspects of daily life, social organization, ceremonial practices, and artistic expressions of the ancient inhabitants of La Organera-Xochipala. The gallery features archaeological artifacts recovered during the excavations, including pottery, stone tools, sculptures, architectural elements, and other materials that illustrate the level of development achieved by this society. These objects are complemented by informational panels, photographs, illustrations, maps, and reconstructions that help visitors understand the evolution of the settlement and its natural environment.

Furthermore, the exhibition explains the most representative architectural features of La Organera-Xochipala, such as its plazas, platforms, sunken courtyards, pyramidal bases, and buildings with false vaults—a construction technique uncommon in the region that reflects the knowledge and technical skill of its builders. It also addresses the site’s strategic importance within the Balsas River basin and its role as a political, ceremonial, and trade center during the Epiclassic period.

The exhibition hall features a section dedicated to the history of archaeological research conducted at the site, highlighting the work of specialists who have contributed to the understanding and preservation of this cultural heritage. In addition, it promotes appreciation for the legacy of pre-Hispanic societies and encourages the conservation of archaeological heritage through content aimed at the general public as well as students and researchers.
